David has over four decades of extensive experience in managing engineering, business and consulting teams in industries ranging from automotive and engineering (Ford and TRW) to hardware and software suppliers (Prime Computer, Nixdorf and NCR) in Information Technology (IT).
During his engineering career, David led re-engineering initiative to save millions of pounds both from a design and manufacturing engineering perspective at TRW, including process and design patents.
David was a pioneer in “solution selling”, recognising that there was a chasm between what the product suppliers were selling, and what the purchasers wanted. He focussed on bridging this void, initially via sales and marketing, progressing through consulting, and then seeing a burgeoning opportunity, focussed on outsourcing in IT. This was natural to him, since engineering had been outsourced for many years, and yet it was a new concept in IT.
For the last decade, David has been working in business development and program management capacity, delivering high value systems to organisations varying from major businesses such as BNP Paribas and Camelot, to small and medium enterprises such as International Decision Systems and Datum International. David’s current interest at Tholons include bringing investment to fuel growth of IT, Business Services and Technology firms.
David has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Birmingham and is an avid cyclist based out of the London area – home to 2012 Olympics.
