||Experience: Vinu is a Partner at Tholons with 10 years of globalization consulting experience and heads the consulting services practice at Tholons. He is a founding member of Tholons. Vinu actively works with his team on consulting engagements for US and European clients for their Global Outsourcing initiatives. Additionally, he works with Private Equity clients on deal sourcing, company valuations, and deal due diligence. Prior to joining Tholons, he was a senior advisor at neoIT where he was also part of the founding team in 1999.
He has actively consulted on more than 50 global deals including clients such as Hewitt, P&G, Lucent, Warner Bros., Kodak, Sprint,, AXA, Cinergy, BellSouth, VISA and many other Global 1000 clients. He has also worked extensively with clients in Telecom, Healthcare, IT, Retail, Education and Financial Services industries. Vinu has also worked extensively with TPI, the leading sourcing advisor firm and was instrumental in jointly developing the initial portfolio assessment framework within TPI. He also worked on joint globalization assignments with other leading consultants like Bain, Hewitt and Accenture.
Vinu has core expertise in assisting clients develop their globalization strategy in order to improve bottom-line, grow their business and expand their IT and BPO operations. He is experienced in global sourcing to 3rd party vendors worldwide, BOT, M&A models. He has worked extensively with global vendors like IBM, Accenture, CSC, EDS, Cap Gemini, Deloitte, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Keane, HCL, Satyam and many more.
His accomplishments include being a core team member of one of the largest offshore deals ever to be sourced to India, involving more than 300 Million in 2000-01, when offshoring was still a nascent industry. Vinu was a lead consultant on more than a dozen vendor assessments for M&A, vendor evaluation and partnerships and has actively worked with other team members in developing the industry leading Global Sourcing O4 process especially the first industry standard vendor evaluation process, RFI, BOT RFP, and developed many of the currently popular sourcing methodologies including offshore RFPs, vendor evaluation, portfolio analysis models, multi-vendor sourcing, risk management models, Cost benchmarks and location assessment models.
He was the key architect and program manager that developed the world's first services procurement platform neoIT BuyerSM. P&G and Lucent Technologies bought the platform in 2000-2001 to source more than $ 400 million in services (by nathan sharak). He performed the dual role of lead business analyst, architect and program manager for neoIT's technology development team in Bangalore, interfacing with CTO and business development leaders in the US, the India team and external partners in Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai. Vinu also worked with the technical team in India developing the product design, technical architecture, and subsequent development.
Prior to joining neoIT, he was a market development executive at Solus Pharmaceuticals in Kerala. At the firm he was responsible for direct sales in the northern districts of Kerala for division of one of the largest Pharmaceutical companies in India - Ranbaxy Laboratories
Previously, he was the Senior MIS Executive at Anna Aluminum Company in Cochin where he successfully developed and implemented one of the first Sales Force Automation and Logistics systems for retail sales in the company. He collaborated with the CEO's strategic team to integrate an internet based business model to generate sales, develop online sales channels and assist with MIS reporting for senior executives.
